The Keysight E1505A is an 8-channel current source Signal Conditioning Plug-on (SCP) module designed for precision excitation in resistance and resistance-temperature measurements within VXI test systems. Each channel delivers independently programmable DC current at two selectable levels: 30 µA or 488 µA, with output accuracy of ±9 nA at the 30.518 µA level and ±60 nA at the 488.28 µA level (90-day specification at 23 °C ± 1 °C after 1 hour warm-up). Over-voltage protection is integrated on each channel to prevent damage from overcurrent or voltage transients.
The module incorporates two 150 Ω series resistors in each output path, which must be accounted for in measurement calculations. Four-wire resistance measurement configurations are supported and recommended for maximum accuracy; two-wire measurements are possible but introduce an offset error due to these internal series resistors.
