Equipment info

The LeCroy LOGICSTUDIO 16 is a USB-powered logic analyzer that captures and decodes digital signals across 16 channels, transforming a PC into a portable debugging platform. Operating at 500 MS/s across all 16 channels or 1 GS/s on 8 channels, it delivers the timing resolution and memory depth required for embedded systems validation, digital design verification, and protocol analysis.

Technical Specifications

Acquisition Performance
• 16 input channels with 500 MS/s sampling rate (all channels) or 1 GS/s interleaved mode (8 channels)
• 100 MHz bandwidth with 3.75 ns minimum detectable pulse width
• 20 kpts memory depth on 16 channels; 40 kpts on 8 channels
• Channel-to-channel skew: 1 ns typical
• Continuous acquisition mode at 1 kHz sample rate

Triggering & Protocol Analysis
• Advanced trigger blocks (A and B) supporting logic combinations: AND, OR, and THEN operations
• Match criteria include rising/falling edge, any edge, level qualification, and pulse width measurement
• Trigger resolution at 500 MS/s for edge, pattern, pulse width, and pattern width triggers
• Built-in protocol decoders for UART, I2C, and SPI with decoder-based triggering

Signal Conditioning
• Input impedance: 150 kΩ || 12 pF
• Threshold selections: TTL, CMOS (1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.3 V, 5 V), and user-defined 0 V to 7 V
• Threshold accuracy: ±150 mV + 5% of threshold
• Maximum survivable input voltage: ±40 VDC; maximum dynamic range 40 Vp-p; minimum voltage swing 500 mVp-p

– Key Features

• Compact form factor: 81.3 mm × 124.5 mm × 28.0 mm
• USB 2.0 bus-powered operation with Cypress CY7C68013A interface
• Xilinx Spartan-6 XC6SLX16 FPGA for real-time signal processing
• 16-channel digital leadset with micro hooks included
• BNC output for oscilloscope integration

– Typical Applications

Embedded systems debugging, SPI/I2C bus validation, UART serial communication analysis, digital circuit design verification, and multi-protocol signal capture.

– Compatibility & Integration

Windows operating system support. Compatible with ten popular oscilloscope series from LeCroy, Tektronix, and Agilent covering 40 MHz to 1 GHz bandwidths via BNC interconnect.
