The NRT-10033A Programmable PMD Source generates deterministic, stable, and repeatable Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) states for optical component and system characterization. Using patented Coherent-PMD technology, the instrument provides precise control over Differential Group Delay (DGD) and State of Polarization of PMD (SOPMD), enabling realistic PMD stress testing across high-speed transmission systems without relying on statistical or non-deterministic emulation methods.
