The Newport 3150-C1 is a precision temperature controller engineered for research and industrial automation requiring advanced thermal management. It delivers real-time output control through cursor keys or a control knob, with an LCD display and soft-key interface guiding setup and operation. The unit supports three control modes—Constant Current (Const ITE), Constant Resistance/Reference (Const R), and Constant Temperature (Const T)—making it adaptable to diverse sensor and load configurations.

Technical Specifications

Power Input: Configurable for 100, 120, 220, or 240 VAC; maximum line input 250 VAC.

Sensor Support: Compatible with thermistors, AD590, LM335, and Pt RTD sensors. Calibration uses closed-case methods with one-point or two-point adjustment. LM335 and AD590 employ C1 and C2 constants; thermistors use C1, C2, C3 Steinhart-Hart constants plus Ro; RTD sensors use C1, C2, C3 constants.

Temperature Accuracy: LM335 calibrated at 25°C with C1=0 and C2=1 achieves ±0.5°C typical over rated operating range. LM335 non-linearity produces typical error of ±0.3°C. AD590 tolerates maximum absolute error of 0.8°C with one-point calibration.

Output: Ultra-stable bipolar configuration with configurable TE Current Limit (Lim ITE) and Voltage Limit (Lim V). Supports Resistance/Reference Limits (Lim Rh/Vhi/Ih and Lim Rl/Vlo/Il) and TEC interlock functionality.

Environmental: Requires 2 to 4 inches rear panel clearance for air circulation. Recommended operation in static-free work area. Meets IEC 1010-1 safety requirements and complies with Directive 89/336/EEC and Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC.
