The NI SCXI-1161 is an 8-channel relay switching module for the SCXI platform, providing independent single-pole double-throw (SPDT/Form C) non-latching relays for signal switching, routing, and control. Each channel offers normally closed, normally open, and common terminals with gold clad silver alloy contacts rated to 8 A at 125 Vrms, 6 A at 250 Vrms, or 5 A at 30 VDC. The module integrates directly into SCXI chassis and connects to National Instruments DAQ boards via a 50-pin ribbon interface, with 24 screw terminals for signal attachment. Software-programmable through NI-SWITCH drivers and LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, or register-level programming, it scales from single modules to thousands of controlled signals across multiple chassis.
