Rohde and Schwarz FSW85

The Rohde & Schwarz FSW85 is a high-performance signal and spectrum analyzer for RF characterization across aerospace, defense, and communications. Operating from 2 Hz to 85 GHz (extendable to 90 GHz with the R&S®FSW-B90G option), it delivers exceptional phase noise performance and ultra-low displayed average noise level for detecting minute spurious emissions and analyzing complex signals. The instrument provides internal analysis bandwidth up to 8.3 GHz, real-time analysis to 800 MHz, and signal analysis bandwidth options from 10 MHz to 2 GHz. Phase noise reaches typ. –140 dBc (1 Hz) at 10 kHz offset for a 1 GHz carrier, with close-in performance of typ. –114 dBc (1 Hz) at 100 Hz offset. DANL performance includes typ. –159 dBm (1 Hz) at 2 GHz without preamplifier and typ. –150 dBm (1 Hz) at 25 GHz without preamplifier. A built-in preamplifier reduces DANL by over 15 dB, while switch-selected noise cancellation improves DANL by up to 13 dB. Dynamic range reaches –88 dBc with noise cancellation for WCDMA ACLR measurements. The instrument features a large multitouch display, intuitive user interface, and image rejection up to 85 GHz with YIG preselector operation between 8 GHz. Optional internal analysis bandwidth modules (R&S®FSW-B4001/-B6001/-B8001) support 4 GHz, 6.4 GHz, or 8.3 GHz configurations. Integration with the R&S®RTO2064 oscilloscope enables 5 GHz internal analysis bandwidth. A separate receive path optimized for frequencies below 1 GHz supports measurements on public safety and security radio systems.
