The Rohde & Schwarz NGMO2 is a dual-channel analyzer and electronic load combining precision voltage sourcing, programmable DC loading, and transient recording in a compact half-rack format. Each independent channel delivers 0–15 V at 1 mV resolution with 0.05% + 5 mV accuracy, while current sourcing reaches 0–5 A (1.8–5 V) or 0–2.5 A (outside that range), with 7 A peak capability over 1 ms. The instrument integrates a digital voltmeter, integral current-transient recorder, storage oscilloscope, and squarewave generator, making it essential for battery characterization, power supply validation, and mobile device development. Dual measurement channels capture precise µA-level currents and voltage transients simultaneously. Overvoltage protection spans 1.5–22 V adjustable; overcurrent protection and open sense pin detection provide additional circuit safeguards. Load sinking reaches 2.8 A static, derating to 1 A at 15 V. Settling time for 0.1–1.6 A load steps is <35 µs direct-connected or <50 µs with sense leads, with ≤20 mV overshoot. Adjustable output impedance supports battery emulation scenarios. The half-width 2U enclosure integrates IEEE 488.2 (GPIB), RS-232-C, and USB interfaces with auxiliary I/O for output inhibit, relay control, completion signaling, and trigger input. High-resolution display and result memory enable rapid characterization workflows across dual channels simultaneously.
