Equipment info

The Agilent 86146B Optical Spectrum Analyzer is a benchtop instrument for precise spectral analysis across 600 nm to 1700 nm. Its patented double-pass monochromator design delivers simultaneous high sensitivity and dynamic range with sweep times typically under 180 ms, making it ideal for characterizing DWDM components, broadband passive components, and active optical devices including DFBs, FP lasers, EDFAs, Raman amplifiers, and SOAs. The instrument offers wavelength accuracy to ±0.01 nm (1480–1570 nm after internal calibration) and repeatability of ±0.002 nm. Its specialized filter mode enables fast-tuning single DWDM channel isolation with low insertion loss and high wavelength accuracy, and supports time-resolved chirp measurements.
