The Sumitomo TYPE-36 is a compact core alignment fusion splicer engineered for single-pass, field-deployable fiber optic splicing. Weighing 6.9 kg with dimensions of 190(W) × 190(D) × 175(H) mm, this fully automatic splicer delivers splice cycle times of approximately 25 seconds with typical loss of 0.02 dB for single-mode fiber. The splicer employs High-resolution Direct Core Monitoring (HDCM) image processing for precision X and Y plane fiber alignment, paired with a dual microscope observation system offering 280x magnification. A detachable 5.6-inch TFT color monitor provides real-time feedback.
