The Tektronix 3706A is a six-slot system switch mainframe engineered for automated testing, data acquisition, and signal routing in compact 2U form factor. It delivers high channel density through modular plug-in cards—supporting up to 576 two-wire multiplexer channels, 720 one-wire multiplexer channels, or 2,688 one-pole matrix crosspoints—while the optional integrated 7½-digit DMM adds measurement capability without expanding footprint. The instrument executes test procedures directly via embedded Test Script Processor (TSP®) technology, minimizing host PC overhead and accelerating throughput. Communication via LXI/Ethernet, GPIB, and USB ensures straightforward integration into existing test infrastructure.
