The Vytran FFS-1000 is a filament fusion splicer designed for high-precision splicing of standard, large-diameter, specialty, and soft glass optical fibers. It produces low-loss, high-strength splices suitable for telecommunications, research, and manufacturing environments where optical quality and mechanical reliability are critical. The system employs Vytran’s proprietary filament fusion technology—heating the splice region with an isolated resistive filament—combined with inert gas purging and automated fire polishing to achieve consistent results independent of ambient conditions.
