The X-ES XPedite5200 is a high-performance XMC module built around the Freescale MPC8548E PowerQUICC III processor, delivering 3065 MIPS at 1.333 GHz for demanding embedded systems. It combines a dual-precision floating-point unit with up to 4 GB DDR2-533 SDRAM and configurable flash storage to support real-time and compute-intensive workloads. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports—two front-panel and two backplane—enable multi-network configurations in VME and CompactPCI installations. The module supports x8 PCI Express or x4 Serial RapidIO connectivity via XMC lanes, 133 MHz PCI-X 1.0a interface, and dual I²C controllers for system integration. Available in Standard Air-Cooled, Rugged Air-Cooled, and Conduction-Cooled variants, it operates from 0 to +55°C (Standard) or -40 to +85°C (Conduction-Cooled), with shock survival to 30 g and vibration tolerance to 0.1 g²/Hz across the 5 to 2000 Hz band. Multi-OS support includes VxWorks, QNX Neutrino, INTEGRITY, Linux, and LynxOS.
