Equipment info

The XVME-675 is a single-slot VMEbus PC/AT processor module designed for industrial control and real-time data acquisition in demanding environments. It integrates an Intel 80486DX4 processor running at 100 MHz directly onto the VMEbus card, delivering 32-bit processing with complete virtual memory management and energy-efficient SL technology.

Technical Specifications

Processor: Intel 80486DX4 at 100 MHz with 16 KB on-chip cache and P24T/P24CT socket compatibility for Pentium upgrade paths. The module supports zero wait-state writes to configurable DRAM (16 or 32 MB options) and includes 256 KB ROM BIOS.

Graphics: Super VGA controller with 1 MB Video RAM, delivering 640 × 480 resolution at 64K colors or 1024 × 768 at 256 colors. Hardware cursor and BitBLT engine accelerate GUI performance.

VMEbus Interface: 32-bit master/slave interfaces with pipeline architecture for minimal DRAM impact, programmable byte-swapping, interrupter/interrupt handler capability, and software-configurable operation via BIOS.

I/O & Expansion: Integrated PC/AT bus, floppy and IDE controllers with enhanced PIO support, two RS-232C serial ports, Centronics-compatible parallel port, PS/2 keyboard/mouse connectors, and on-board PC/104 expansion site.

System Management: Integrated watchdog timer with single eight-position configuration switch.

– Key Features

• Complete 32-bit VMEbus master/slave capability integrated on the local 80486 bus for maximized access speeds
• Pipelined slave interface architecture minimizes VMEbus cycle interference with DRAM operations
• High-performance IDE controller with enhanced PIO modes for storage devices
• Flexible memory configuration: 16 or 32 MB DRAM with zero wait-state writes
• PS/2 keyboard/mouse support with dual RS-232C serial ports for industrial connectivity

– Electrical Specifications

Power consumption: +5V typically 4.2 A (XVME-675/18) or 4.9 A (XVME-675/19), +12V and -12V at 24 mA maximum each.

Operating temperature range 0°C to 55°C with 600 ft./min. airflow; extended range -25°C to 70°C. Module qualifies for sea level to 10,000 ft altitude. Operating vibration: 5 to 2000 Hz at 0.015″ peak-to-peak displacement, 2.5 g maximum.

– Compatibility & Integration

The P24T/P24CT socket provides direct upgrade capability to Intel Pentium processors. The open PC/104 expansion site and integrated IDE/floppy controllers enable system extension without external adapters. VMEbus interrupt and interrupter functions integrate into mixed crate architectures.
