Agilent / Keysight 83220E DCS/PCS Mobile Station Test Set

The Agilent/Keysight 83220E is a DCS/PCS mobile station test set that expands the capabilities of the 8922 family for testing mobile communication devices operating in the 1800 MHz and 1900 MHz bands. This instrument integrates RF generation, RF analysis, and general instrumentation into a single platform, delivering transmitter and receiver testing, base station emulation, and comprehensive mobile station characterization. The 83220E supports hopped traffic channels, call origination and termination, handovers, channel assignments, transmit power control commands, and multiple control channel configurations. It enables GPRS-capable mobile testing across multi-slot configurations, GSM/DCS dual-band handover validation, and functional voice testing via integrated speech coder. Output level accuracy is ±1.3 dB at DCS 1800 and ±1.5 dB at PCS 1900. Optional spectrum analyzer functionality and RF interface support (Option 010) extend measurement depth. Automatic test software enables efficient go/no-go inspection and detailed troubleshooting. The instrument operates at sound pressure levels below 70 dB(A) at the operator position and accepts PCMCIA cards for test plan storage, firmware updates, and configuration management.
