The Agilent/Keysight E1429A is a C-size VXIbus digitizer module for high-performance transient signal acquisition. This single-slot, message-based instrument captures 12-bit resolution measurements across two analog channels at sampling rates up to 20 MSa/s. Each channel provides 512 kSa of segmentable memory, supporting storage of up to 128 pre- and post-arm data sets. The E1429A features programmable arm/trigger circuits optimized for transient signal capture, with non-volatile memory preserving data during power loss. Dual programming interfaces—SCPI command control and register-based reads/writes—enable both high-level automation and direct high-speed data access. An on-board voltage reference supports self-verification. Built-in tests cover attenuators, amplifiers, ADCs, memory, timebase, and digital circuits, executing automatically at power-up or via the *TST command. Data transfer occurs over the VXI data transfer bus. The E1429A is functionally equivalent to the E1429B except for the absence of local bus support, making it ideal for VXI-based measurement systems requiring sustained multi-channel digitization with flexible triggering and substantial pre- and post-trigger buffering.
