The Keysight PV8922A is a high-performance photovoltaic array simulator engineered to replicate real-world solar array electrical characteristics for inverter testing and development. This programmable DC power source delivers up to 20 kW across a 2000 VDC, 30 A output range with autoranging capability, enabling flexible voltage and current combinations such as 2000 V at 10 A or 667 V at 30 A. It simulates I-V curve behavior through curve mode mathematical generation or table mode with up to 1024 discrete points, supporting rigorous validation of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms. The instrument also functions as a traditional autoranging DC power supply when needed.
