The EXFO FLS-5834A is a modulated, polarized, high-power Super LED source engineered for chromatic dispersion (CD) and polarization mode dispersion (PMD) testing in optical networks. Operating at 100 MHz modulation frequency, it delivers high modulation capability for phase-shift based CD measurements through amplified spans, including EDFAs. The source provides high degree of polarization required for PMD analysis and functions as a broadband source for DWDM channel and component testing. Designed to integrate with the EXFO FTB-5800 CD Analyzer, it can also combine with the FTB-5500B PMD Analyzer for comprehensive dispersion characterization. Power stability remains within 0.075 dB over 15 minutes, ensuring measurement repeatability in field deployments.
