Equipment info

The Fluke 1942 is a fixed-system power quality recorder for three-phase installations in industrial and commercial facilities. It captures voltage sags, swells, waveform faults, and all power parameters simultaneously across nine input channels—four voltage and five current—without requiring manual threshold configuration. Full Disclosure Technology records every detected change in measurements, ensuring no power quality event goes unobserved. The instrument operates in five modes: Recorder, Meter, Monitor, Scope, and Analyzer.

Technical Specifications

Input Channels & Sampling
• 4 voltage channels (three phases plus neutral-to-ground)
• 5 current channels (phases, neutral, and ground)
• 128 samples per cycle, phase-locked at 50/60 Hz
• Sampling rate: 6.4 kS/s (50 Hz) or 7.7 kS/s (60 Hz)
• RMS and power measurements processed every full cycle

Power Quality Parameters
• Real and apparent power (W, VA), reactive power (VAR), power factor (PF), displacement power factor (dPF), total harmonic distortion (THD)
• Harmonic recording for voltage and current
• Flicker measurement
• Event capture: up to 6,000 voltage events with simultaneous current per session; up to 96,000 events across 16 sessions with Multi-session option
• Demand monitoring with 5-minute to 1-hour averaging intervals

Power & Backup
• Operating input: 85–264 V AC, 47–440 Hz
• Power consumption: 40 watts
• Rechargeable NiCad backup maintains operation for 5 minutes after power loss
• Lithium real-time clock battery: 10-year life
