Equipment info

The HP/Agilent 70300A RF Tracking Generator is a 2-slot modular measurement system (MMS) module that provides stimulus-response measurement capabilities for RF systems. Operating as a slave device within the HP/Agilent 70000 Series architecture, it generates a calibrated RF output signal that precisely tracks both the frequency and amplitude of a connected spectrum analyzer. This tracking capability enables accurate characterization of gain, frequency response, isolation, and return loss across RF components and systems. The 70300A requires control from an HP 70900A/B local oscillator source and integrates with HP 71210A microwave spectrum analyzers and scalar measurement personalities for component and system analysis.

Technical Specifications

• Frequency Range: 20 Hz to 2.9 GHz
• RF Output Power: +20 dBm maximum
• Dynamic Range: >124 dB (with HP/Agilent 71100C), 125 dB (with HP 70000 Spectrum Analyzer)
• 90 dB Range Dynamic Accuracy: ±0.5 dB, ±0.1 dB/dB incremental
• Displayed Average Noise Level: -134 dBm at 1 GHz (with 71100C)
• RF Output Connector: Type N female, 50 Ω impedance
• Resolution Bandwidths: As narrow as 10 Hz
