The HP/Agilent 8350B Sweep Oscillator Mainframe is a microprocessor-controlled RF and microwave signal source accepting 83500 series plug-in modules (and 86200 series with adapter) to generate swept or continuous wave (CW) frequency signals across diverse frequency ranges. The mainframe delivers direct-coupled sawtooth sweep outputs from 0 to approximately +10 V concurrent with swept RF output, with sweep times continuously adjustable from 10 ms to 100 seconds. It supports multiple sweep modes—internal, line-triggered, external trigger, and single—plus manual frequency adjustment with 980-point resolution across the selected sweep width. Full HP-IB (IEEE-488) programmability enables automated test environments, while nonvolatile memory retains instrument state, HP-IB address, and up to nine front-panel settings across power cycles.
