The HP/Agilent 8971C Noise Figure Test Set extends noise figure measurement capabilities to microwave frequencies, operating as a downconverter from 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz. Designed exclusively for use with the HP/Agilent 8970B Noise Figure Meter, this instrument enables single-sideband measurements with a single calibration and sweep cycle. The integrated low-noise preamplifier reduces measurement uncertainty by minimizing second-stage noise figure effects, making it essential for characterizing amplifiers, converters, and RF components in communication and radar systems.
