The Keysight E8708A is a radar target simulator purpose-built for automotive radar system development and validation in the 76–81 GHz band. It generates configurable target scenarios with precise range and radar cross-section control, eliminating the need for road testing during ADAS development. The instrument supports continuous range simulation from 4 to 300 m with 0.1 m resolution, or user-defined fixed ranges. Optional Doppler simulation extends capability to target speed characterization from −360 to 360 km/h at 0.1 km/h resolution, replacing external signal generators in many test configurations. Antenna options include single-horn with integrated circulator or dual-horn (Tx/Rx) configurations with 20 or 25 dBi gain. An optional embedded signal analyzer provides average power and occupied bandwidth measurement, while integrated LAN control via Windows 7 Professional 64-bit GUI enables laboratory automation and fleet test coordination.
