The JDS Uniphase PS3650+25 is a benchtop PDL multimeter for single-mode fiber optic component characterization. This instrument integrates three measurement functions into one unit: polarization dependent loss (PDL), insertion loss (IL), and optional return loss (RL). Employing the Mueller matrix method per IEC 61300-3-12, it delivers simultaneous PDL and IL measurements in under two seconds—significantly accelerating production test cycles. The internal optical design compensates for source power drift, maintaining measurement accuracy across extended operations.
