The Marconi IFR Aeroflex 2395A is a portable spectrum analyzer for RF and microwave signal characterization across 1 kHz to 26.5 GHz. It delivers 1 Hz frequency resolution via a fully synthesized local oscillator and measures signals from +30 dBm to -110 dBm with input protection to ±50 VDC. The instrument combines field-grade portability at 12 kg with laboratory-grade performance: resolution bandwidth from 300 Hz to 3 MHz, phase noise of -90 dBc at 10 kHz offset, and selectivity better than 5:1 at the -60/-3 dB ratio. A 6.4-inch TFT color LCD (640 × 480 pixels) displays up to nine simultaneous markers with delta, peak search, and center-frequency tracking functions. Semi-automated measurements include adjacent channel power, occupied bandwidth, channel power, harmonic distortion, and X dB down analysis with settable limits and on-screen excursion warnings. AM/FM demodulation with audio output to internal speaker and headphone jack supports full communications system testing, including FM peak deviation and AM modulation depth measurement. The analyzer stores up to 1,000 screen traces and 2,000 operational states internally; USB 2.0 and 3.5-inch floppy disk interfaces enable external data transfer.
