The Murata/Datel DVME-601B is an intelligent A/D co-processor board for VMEbus systems that enables simultaneous high-speed analog data acquisition independent of the host processor. Built around a 68010-based microcomputer, the board automatically collects A/D scans and interrupts the VME host when data is ready, preventing acquisition tasks from blocking host software execution. This architecture makes it ideal for demanding real-time applications where continuous data collection must occur without impacting system responsiveness.

• 68010-based single-board microcomputer core
• 12 to 16-bit pluggable A/D converter modules
• 12-bit conversion speed down to 2 microseconds
• Single-channel fast-throughput mode exceeding 250,000 samples per second to memory (12-bit, gain=1)

Analog Input Stage:
• 16 single-ended or 8 differential local channels
• Expandable to 256 total channels using Datel slave MUX boards
• User-resistor programmable instrumentation amplifier with gains up to 1000

Host Interface:
• 64 Kb dual-ported RAM (DPR) for command, parameter, control/status, and A/D data exchange
• Maskable interrupt generation to VMEbus upon scan completion or local program command

Conversion Triggering:
A/D conversion initiated by external trigger, internal programmable timer, local program execution, or host command.
