The Newport 4832-C is a PC-based multi-channel optical power meter delivering precise, NIST-traceable measurements across 1 to 4 configurable channels. A remote break-out box positioned up to 30 feet from the host PC isolates sensitive analog circuitry from electrical noise, enabling high-accuracy readings. Dual A/D converters—12-bit for high-speed acquisition and 15-bit for precision DC measurements—support sampling rates to 3500 Hz (single-channel, 12-bit) and 15 Hz (15-bit resolution). The instrument connects via ISA bus plug-in card and accepts Newport 818 Series low-power detectors in both free-space and fiber-pigtailed configurations. Output data transfers directly to the PC for unit conversion and post-processing in Watts, Amps, dB, or dBm. LabVIEW, DOS C, and Windows DLL drivers enable integration with 486 and Pentium systems.
