The Newport 501AN Laser Diode Driver with Analog Interface delivers precision current control for laser diodes with dual operating modes and integrated protection. This driver combines constant current and constant laser power modes in a single instrument, with selectable output ranges optimized for resolution and accuracy. An external analog modulation input enables voltage-controlled modulation of the drive current, supporting remote operation via function generators or voltage sources. Redundant FET and relay shorting circuits, adjustable current limits, and voltage limit features protect the laser diode from overcurrent conditions. A built-in monitor photodiode circuit operates zero-biased or reverse-biased to 5 Volts without requiring external power supplies.
