The NEWPORT FP-150945 is a pneumatic vibration isolation platform designed to suppress ambient vibrations and establish a stable foundation for sensitive instrumentation. Using a pneumatic suspension system with integrated self-leveling valves, it delivers vertical isolation of 90% and horizontal isolation of 96% at 10 Hz, effectively eliminating over 85% of vibration noise in typical laboratory environments.
Technical Specifications
Isolation Performance
• Vertical isolation at 10 Hz: 90%
• Horizontal isolation at 10 Hz: 96%
• Vertical resonance frequency: 3.2 Hz, 6.7 Hz
• Horizontal resonance frequency: 6.2 Hz
• Isolation start frequency: 5 Hz or 9 Hz
• Amplification at resonance — Vertical: 12 dB; Horizontal: 10 dB
Leveling & Alignment
• Self-leveling valves with automatic releveling via compressed air
• Leveling accuracy: ±0.010 in (0.25 mm)
• Isolator mounting tolerance: axis not more than 0.5° from vertical
• Mounting surface must be level
Air Supply Requirements
• Clean, pressure-regulated air supply required
• Recommended air pressure calculated as: (total load ÷ total isolator diaphragm area in in²) + 5–10 psig
• Isolator diaphragm area: 25.9 in² per isolator
• Maximum operating pressure: 95–100 psig (6.7–7.0 kg/cm²)
• Suitable sources: Newport ACWS or ACGP air compressors, filtered/regulated plant air, bottled nitrogen, or mechanically compressed air
• Bottled CO2 not recommended due to icing risk
