The Newport 426 and 436 Series are precision linear translation stages engineered for high-resolution positioning in research and industrial optical systems. Built with crossed-roller bearings on ground steel V-ways, these low-profile stages deliver minimal runout and exceptional repeatability. Preloaded springs eliminate backlash while hardened carbide inserts ensure stable actuator engagement. All units are interferometrically qualified to guarantee performance consistency.

Both series accommodate manual or motorized actuators in left- or right-hand configurations via rigid stainless steel mounting. A reversible lock secures positioning without influencing stage performance. Solid and apertured platform versions feature 1/4-20 or M6 tapped holes; apertured models (426A/436A) provide a 2 inch (50.8 mm) aperture diameter with 0.625 inch (16 mm) unobscured travel.
