The NI PCI-6010 is a PCI-based multifunction data acquisition device that combines analog input, analog output, digital I/O, and counter/timer functionality in a single card. It supports OEM integration, manufacturing test, design verification, laboratory automation, and research applications through a 37-pin D-SUB connector interface.
Technical Specifications
Analog Input: 8 differential or 16 single-ended channels with 16-bit resolution. Maximum sampling rate reaches 200 kS/s on a single channel or 33.3 kS/s in scanning mode. Input ranges of ±5 V, ±1 V, and ±0.2 V accommodate various signal levels. Input impedance exceeds 10 GΩ in parallel with 100 pF. The 4,095-sample FIFO and 4,095-entry scan list memory support complex measurement sequences. Settling time is 30 µs to 100 ppm or 50 µs to 40 ppm for multichannel operations. Protection against overvoltage (±42 V) and powered-off impedance of 22 kΩ ensure reliability. Small signal bandwidth reaches 50 kHz at −3 dB.
Analog Output: 2 channels with 16-bit DAC resolution and ±1 LSB differential nonlinearity.
Digital I/O: 6 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs operating at 5 V TTL logic levels (0.0–5.0 V). Total bidirectional capacity reaches 24 channels.
Counter/Timer: 2 channels with 32-bit resolution. Supported input measurements include pulse, edge counting, period, semi-period, and two-edge separation. Output applications encompass pulse generation, frequency division, and equivalent time sampling.
Timing: Single frequency generator with 10 MHz and 100 kHz base clocks, divisors from 1 to 16, and ±50 ppm base clock accuracy.
Interfaces: PCI bus connectivity with 3 dedicated DMA channels (analog input, counter/timer 0, counter/timer 1). Supports 3.3 V or 5 V signal environments. External digital triggers accept any PFI line source with software-selectable polarity.
