The NI PCI-6723 is a multifunction analog output card for PCI systems designed to generate precise static and dynamic waveforms across 32 independent channels. This device delivers 13-bit resolution analog outputs with update rates reaching 800 kS/s per channel in single-channel mode, scaling to 204 kS/s per channel when all 32 channels operate simultaneously. Output range is ±10 V with 0.1 Ω impedance and 5 mA per-channel current limits.

Beyond analog generation, the PCI-6723 integrates eight 5 V TTL/CMOS digital I/O lines individually configurable as inputs or outputs, plus two 24-bit counter/timers running at a 20 MHz base clock (80 MHz timebase for PWM). These counters support Pulse Width Modulation generation and non-quadrature encoder counting. Digital triggering and external clocking via TTL-compatible signals from PFI enable precise synchronization. The onboard RTSI bus connects to other National Instruments DAQ, motion, and vision hardware.
