Mounted directly adjacent to the servo motor, it minimizes panel space and installation complexity while reducing cabling requirements. The unit features an on-board PowerPC or RISC microprocessor executing servo loops at 8 kHz, delivering enhanced path control and rapid settling performance. Communication occurs via IEEE 1394 protocol integrated into Adept’s SmartServo network, enabling real-time axis control without centralized amplifier infrastructure.
