Equipment info

The ACC-5E is a UMAC MACRO interface board that bridges UMAC motion control systems to external devices through Delta Tau’s real-time MACRO protocol. Housed in a 3U Eurocard form factor (100 x 160 mm), it connects to the CPU board via the UBUS backplane expansion port and enables high-speed communication across industrial automation networks. The board supports configurable 16-node or 32-node MACRO-ring topologies with communication range up to 1 km, facilitating control of up to 16 motors and 864 bits of I/O.

Technical Specifications

• Form Factor: 3U Eurocard, 100 x 160 mm PCB
• System Integration: UBUS backplane expansion port connection
• Power Consumption: 5V @ 0.92A (±10%); with Option 2: 5V @ 1.20A (±10%)
• MACRO Network Topology: 16-node or 32-node ring configuration
• Network Range: Up to 1 km from UMAC Turbo CPU
• Motor/Actuator Capacity: Up to 16 units
• I/O Servicing: 864 bits via MACRO network

– Key Features

• Dual MACRO connectivity options: fiber-optic (SC-style connectors) or 16-node electrical interface (RJ-45)
• Expandable to 32 nodes with Option 2 add-on
• JDISP display port for LCD integration
• JTHW multiplexer port with 16 discrete digital I/O lines, byte-configurable and individually invertible; supports up to 32 card multiplexing
• JIO general-purpose I/O port
• JHW handwheel port featuring two quadrature encoder inputs, two auxiliary pulse/direction outputs, and configurable RP5 termination resistor pack for differential or single-ended encoder operation

– Typical Applications

IDeal for linking UMAC Turbo systems to UMAC MACRO networks in large-scale motor control and distributed I/O architectures requiring extended communication distances and high node density.

– Compatibility & Integration

Designed for UMAC Pack systems. Physical appearance may vary between revisions; core component functionality remains consistent.
