The OMRON / Delta Tau ACC-8E is a 2-axis digital-to-analog breakout terminal block board engineered for the PMAC2 family of motion controllers. It converts digital control signals to analog outputs for velocity-mode, torque-mode, or sinusoidal input amplifiers, connecting via a single 100-pin flat cable. The board features four 18-bit DACs with ±10 V analog output, user-configurable relay outputs for amplifier enables and watchdog functions, and modular terminal block wiring for signal integration.
Technical Specifications
• DAC Resolution: 18-bit
• Analog Output Range: −10 V to +10 V
• Maximum Output Current: 10 mA
• Power Supply: ±15 V (isolated from PMAC2 5 V supply), <200 mA per rail
• Host Interface: Single 100-pin flat cable to PMAC2
• Amplifier Enable Outputs: Dry-contact relays, configurable via jumpers for normally open, normally closed, sinking, or sourcing
• Watchdog Timer Output: Dry-contact relay with user-selectable contact configuration
• Encoder Inputs: Quadrature signals via terminal blocks or 10-pin IDC headers; 1 kΩ pull-ups on main lines, complementary lines biased to 2.5 V
– Key Features
• Modular removable terminal blocks for DAC outputs, flags, and encoder inputs
• Flat-cable connectivity options for on-board IDC headers
• Jumper-selectable relay configurations for application-specific control logic
• Direct 5 V differential line receiver input on PMAC2 (non-isolated)
• Optional ACC-8D Option 6 Isolator board for optical isolation of encoder signals
– Typical Applications
• Motion control systems requiring multi-axis analog command signals
• Servo drive interfaces with velocity or torque command inputs
• Systems using sinusoidal commutation amplifiers
• Applications demanding watchdog-timer safety monitoring
– Compatibility & Integration
Designed exclusively for PMAC2 controllers. Requires isolated ±15 V bias supply (typically from amplifier power). Encoder inputs connect directly to PMAC2 differential receivers without galvanic isolation; use ACC-8D Option 6 Isolator when isolation is required. Handle with electrostatic precautions due to static-sensitive components.
