The PTC Pacific Transducer Corp Shore Type L Scale Durometer Model 306L is a hardness measurement instrument designed for elastomers, rubbers, and soft plastics. It operates on the Shore Type A scale and complies with ASTM D2240 and ISO 868 standards, delivering ±1 point accuracy across a 0 to 100 points measurement range. The 306L features a heat-treated high-carbon steel mainspring, low-glare aluminum dial with bold numerals, and a max hold pointer that captures peak readings until manual reset. Each unit ships with a sturdy carrying case and aluminum test block (Model 401) for calibration verification. Individually calibrated with NIST-traceable certificates available through PTC Metrology™, which holds A2LA accreditation per ISO/IEC 17025.

Specimen temperature must be maintained at 23°C ±2°C with minimum 1-hour acclimation prior to testing. Sample surfaces should be clean and smooth (size 400-A emery paper recommended) with minimum 1/4-inch (6 mm) thickness and adequate flat area to support the presser foot over a 1/4-inch radius from the indenter point.
