The Sorensen DLM40-100E is a 4 kW programmable DC power supply engineered for applications demanding stable, precise output and rapid transient response. This compact 2U chassis (3.5-inch high) delivers continuously variable output from 0–40 VDC at 0–100 ADC, with maximum output power of 4000 W. Designed for benchtop or 19-inch rack-mount deployment, the unit combines low output noise (10 mV RMS typical), exceptional load regulation, and transient recovery within 1 ms to 1% of steady-state voltage. Front-panel knobs with 3½ digit LED displays provide direct voltage and current control, while status indicators track operational modes including constant voltage, constant current, overvoltage, and overtemperature conditions. Remote programming accepts 0–5 VDC, 0–10 VDC, or 0–5 kΩ control signals for voltage, current, and overvoltage protection (OVP). Output stability reaches ±0.05% over 8 hours following a 15-minute warm-up at fixed line, load, and temperature. Remote voltage sense capability with solderless connectors supports up to 5 V total sense line drop. OVP adjustment ranges from 6% to 110% of Vmax and is accessible via front-panel set screw. The DLM40-100E integrates IEEE-488.2 interface capability via optional M9E card, providing status monitoring and remote command control. Built-in remote sense protection prevents damage from misconnected sense leads, ensuring fault-tolerant operation in mission-critical environments.
