The Sumitomo TYPE-25ES-KIT is a handheld fusion splicer engineered for field deployment in FTTx, premise, and restoration environments. It delivers splice times under 11 seconds for single-mode and multimode fiber using enhanced optical technology and a quick-cycle protection sleeve heater. The unit integrates fixed V-groove alignment with dual 68x CMOS cameras for precision fiber positioning, while unified fiber holders accommodate single fibers (250 µm and 900 µm coatings) and ribbon configurations up to 4-count.

Compatibility with Sumitomo’s Lynx—CustomFit™ Splice-on Connector eliminates index matching gel, hand polishing, epoxies, and splice trays. The Type-25e fiber holder system improves repeatability and simplifies field operation. Internal splice data storage captures 1,500 splice records. A fully charged lithium-ion battery supports 60 complete splice and heat-shrink cycles per charge.
