Tektronix MSO4054B Mixed Signal Oscilloscope, 500 MHz, 2.5 GS/s

The Tektronix MSO4054B is a 500 MHz mixed-signal oscilloscope that captures and analyzes up to 20 simultaneous signals—4 analog and 16 digital channels—in a single instrument. With 2.5 GS/s sample rate across all channels and 20 Mpts record length per channel, it delivers the timing resolution and deep memory needed for extended signal capture in complex mixed-signal designs. The instrument features 8-bit vertical resolution (expandable to 11 bits via High Resolution mode) and includes per-channel digital thresholds with multichannel setup and hold triggering. MagniVu™ high-speed acquisition mode achieves up to 16.5 GS/s with 60.6 ps resolution for 10k-point captures centered on the trigger event, enabling detection of pulses as narrow as 1 ns. Analog channels accept 1 MΩ and 50 Ω inputs with AC/DC coupling, supporting input ranges from 1 mV/div to 10 V/div (1 MΩ) and maximum voltages of 300 VRMS CAT II on 1 MΩ inputs. Digital channels detect logic transitions up to 500 MHz. The trigger system supports Auto, Normal, and Single modes with holdoff from 20 ns to 8 s and selectable coupling (DC, HF reject, LF reject, noise reject). Time-base range spans 1 ns to 1000 s with configurable delay from -10 divisions to 5000 s. The main digital system operates at 500 MS/s (2 ns resolution) with maximum waveform capture rate exceeding 50,000 waveforms per second. At the highest sample rate across all channels, the instrument sustains 4 ms continuous acquisition using full 20 M record length. Wave Inspector® controls enable rapid navigation and automated searching of acquired waveform data, accelerating debug cycles for engineers and system integrators.
