The VIAVI Solutions VA6B Precision Variable Attenuator delivers high-resolution control of optical signal levels across single-mode and multimode fiber networks. Micrometer-driven adjustment provides 0.01 dB resolution across a 0–60 dB attenuation range, with calibration options at 830 nm, 1300 nm, or 1550 nm. The instrument achieves excellent repeatability—±0.01 dB maximum for 9 µm fiber and ±0.1 dB maximum for 50/62.5 µm fiber—with absolute accuracy of ±0.1 dB maximum over the 0–20 dB range at calibration wavelength. Insertion loss remains ≤ 2.5 dB for bulkhead-mounted configurations, while return loss exceeds 60 dB. Polarization-dependent loss is 60 dB
• Polarization-Dependent Loss: < 0.08 dB (single-mode)
• Spectral Flatness: ±0.1 dB (±25 nm centered on calibration wavelength, 23°C)
• Calibration Wavelengths: 830 nm, 1300 nm, 1550 nm
