The Wiltron 5447A is a microprocessor-controlled scalar measurement system for precision characterization of transmission, reflection, and absolute power across microwave and RF components. Operating from 10 MHz to 20 GHz, it delivers scalar transmission measurements, return loss and SWR reflection data, and direct power level assessment. The system combines an RF deck enhanced with a down converter and 25 MHz marker generator, central processor, and A9 power supply assembly into a compact benchtop instrument.
Front-panel keys and display menus provide direct operator control of all measurement functions. Remote programming and full command access are available through IEEE-488 (GPIB) interface on the rear panel, except for power on/off control. The 5447A performs self-test, calibration, transmission, return loss, power, and alternating setup measurements. Calibration data automatically subtracts from test data and interpolates across the measurement range.
