The Aeroflex 6823A Scalar Analyzer delivers precise scalar network measurements across 10 MHz to 20 GHz, serving aerospace, defense, and communication industries. This instrument measures insertion loss and return loss simultaneously while providing real-time transmission line fault location with 0.1% accuracy. The 6823A combines a low-noise synthesized signal source with EEPROM-corrected scalar detectors, enabling accurate component and system characterization in both field and factory environments.

Technical Specifications

Frequency Coverage: 10 MHz to 20 GHz

Signal Source: Low-noise synthesized architecture with 1 Hz frequency resolution. Integrated RF synthesizer covers 1 MHz to 3 GHz; VCO-based generation handles frequencies above 3 GHz. Internal filtering achieves <-55 dBc harmonic performance from 70 MHz to 24 GHz. Optional step attenuators available for setting low output power levels.

Measurement Accuracy: Real-time transmission line fault location to 0.1% accuracy. EEPROM-corrected scalar detectors individually characterized for linearity and frequency response.

Display: Large TFT color display supporting simultaneous measurement display of up to four parameters across two independent channels. Eight softkeys provide rapid access to essential parameters.

Markers: Eight markers with menus for peak-to-peak ripple, N-dB bandwidth, -1 dB bandwidth, and maximum/minimum signal detection.

Modulation: Internal pulse modulation and FM capability (external or internal generator). Internal pulse generator included.

Power Sweep: Dedicated function for amplifier gain compression testing.

Data Management: USB interface for results transfer and storage. Internal non-volatile memory and USB Flash Memory support. GPIB (IEEE 488.1 and 488.2) for instrument control and plotter output. Parallel printer interface (25-way D-type connector) compatible with PCL DeskJet and LaserJet printers.

Physical Design: Modular construction enabling rapid service. Ruggedized case with secure handles rated for field deployment.
