Equipment info

The Agilent/Keysight 86140B is a benchtop optical spectrum analyzer for spectral characterization of optical signals across the 600–1700 nm wavelength range. It delivers fast, accurate measurements of WDM systems, optical sources, and broadband components with wavelength accuracy to ±0.5 nm (factory calibrated) and dynamic range of –70 dB. The instrument supports zero span and spans from 0.2 nm to full range, with selectable resolution bandwidths from 0.06 nm to 10 nm FWHM. Built-in test applications for amplifier, source, passive component, and WDM channel analysis streamline repetitive measurement workflows. Maximum input power handling reaches +30 dBm total (+12 dBm per channel), with optional 10 dB optical attenuation available. GPIB remote programming and plug-and-play drivers enable integration into automated test systems.
