The Agilent/Keysight E1472A is a six-channel RF multiplexer module designed for signal routing and instrument switching within VXIbus C-Size mainframes. Each of six independent banks functions as a 1×4 multiplexer, routing one of four input channels to a common output per bank. The tree-switched relay configuration delivers high isolation and low VSWR performance across DC to 2 GHz. Programmed via SCPI commands, the module defaults to Channel 0 connected to COM on each bank with all other channels open. SMB connectors provide high-performance RF connectivity.
Technical Specifications

– Key Features
• Six independent switching banks enable parallel routing of six test signals
• Expandable to larger configurations using up to two expander modules (E1473A for 50 Ohm or E1475A for 75 Ohm)
• Expander modules may be located up to 8 meters away using remote expander cables
• Supports external relay control at 5 V, 12 V, or 24 V drive levels
• Non-latching relay design requires continuous power for maintained state
– Typical Applications
• Automated test signal routing to oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers
• RF signal distribution in test systems
• Multi-channel switching for instrument-level signal monitoring
– Compatibility & Integration
The E1472A integrates into C-Size VXI mainframes using command modules such as the E1406. Functionally identical to the E1474A except for output impedance specification, it operates as a register-based module within the VXI ecosystem and supports SCPI programming for instrument control integration.
