The Keysight E1472A is a VXIbus RF multiplexer module that routes signals across six independent 1×4 multiplexer banks operating from DC to 1.3 GHz. Each bank connects one of four input channels to a common output at any given time using non-latching armature relays in a tree-switched configuration that maximizes isolation and minimizes VSWR. The module installs in a single C-size VXI slot and programs via SCPI commands or register-based control.

– Key Features
• Six independent multiplexer banks enable parallel routing of up to six signal paths
• Tree-switched architecture provides high isolation and low VSWR performance
• Expandable to eighteen 4:1 multiplexer banks by cascading up to two E1473A or E1475A expander modules per RF multiplexer
• Expander modules operate at distances up to eight meters via remote cables
• Each bank switches one channel to common while remaining channels stay unterminated
• SCPI and register-based programming support channel scanning and configuration
– Typical Applications
• Signal routing in automated test systems
• Test signal distribution to oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers
• Distortion analyzer signal conditioning
• Multi-channel RF measurement and characterization
– Compatibility & Integration
The E1472A operates within C-size VXIbus mainframes paired with a command module such as the E1406. It works with the E1473A (50 Ohm) and E1475A (75 Ohm) RF Multiplexer Expanders to create larger switching matrices and extended channel counts.
