The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 700 is an AC drive for industrial motor control, delivering precise speed and torque regulation across multiple control modes. It supports Volts per Hertz, Sensorless Vector Control, and Full Vector Control with Force™ Technology for enhanced low-speed performance. The drive achieves speed regulation to ±0.5% of base speed in open loop with slip compensation across a 40:1 range, or up to 0.001% with encoder feedback. Torque regulation reaches ±5% open loop or ±2% with encoder feedback. TorqProve™ manages load control during brake transitions, while Flying Start enables connection to rotating loads without speed feedback. Integral Process PI Control eliminates the need for external process controllers. The drive operates at output frequencies from 0 to 400 Hz with a carrier frequency of 2–10 kHz (rated at 4 kHz). Horsepower ratings span 0.75 kW to 500 kW with three-phase input at 200–240V AC, 380–480V AC, 500–600V AC, or 690V AC. Single-phase operation is supported with 50% output current derate. Overload capability includes 110% for up to 1 minute or 150% for up to 3 seconds. Software current limiting ranges from 20% to 160% of rated output current, with hardware limits at 200% and instantaneous limits of 220–300%. Efficiency reaches 97.5% at rated amps and nominal line voltage. Integral dynamic braking is available for drives rated 0.5 to 200 HP. Position indexing includes 16-step tables with encoder feedback for precise load positioning.
