The Anritsu 69063A is a synthesized continuous wave generator delivering stable, phase-locked signals from 2 GHz to 40 GHz. Built on microprocessor control, it supports internal AM, FM, ΦM, and pulse modulation alongside user-downloaded complex modulation. The instrument executes broad and narrow-band sweeps with programmable step agility—up to 10,000 steps with dwell times from 1 ms to 99 seconds and switching times typically under 15 ms plus 1 ms per GHz step size. Manual and alternate sweep modes enable flexible frequency selection between independent ranges at differing power levels. Frequency agility extends to 1000 non-sequential frequencies under GPIB control for phase-locked step sweeps. Sweep width and step size adjust independently from 1 kHz to full range (0.1 Hz with Option 11). Output power ranges from –125 dBm to +9.0 dBm nominal, extending to +17 dBm maximum; step attenuator configuration reaches +7.0 dBm to +3.0 dBm. Remote operation via IEEE-488 GPIB provides full command of all functions except power on/standby. The unit is rackmount-configured and qualified for Option 11 (0.1 Hz resolution) and calibration services.
