Basler scA1400-30fm Scout Area Scan Camera

The Basler scA1400-30fm Scout is a monochrome area scan camera built for industrial image acquisition in demanding environments. It combines a Sony ICX285 progressive scan CCD sensor with FireWire-b connectivity to deliver 1392 × 1040 pixel images at 30 fps. The camera operates across 8–36 VDC and draws 3.7 W typical power, making it suitable for battery-backed or distributed power architectures. Its 2/3 inch optical format, 6.45 µm square pixels, and global shutter enable precise timing control for synchronized multi-camera systems. The 12-bit sensor captures data in multiple output formats: Mono 8, Mono 16, Mono 12 Packed, and YUV 4:2:2 variants. Exposure and synchronization are programmable via the 1394 bus, supporting external trigger, free-run, and bus-controlled modes. With 63.0% quantum efficiency at 545 nm, 41.1 dB SNR, and 53.2 dB dynamic range, the camera delivers reliable signal integrity in variable lighting. The compact housing—73.7 × 44.0 × 29.0 mm, 160 g—accepts standard C-mount lenses and achieves IP30 protection when the lens mount is covered. Operating temperature spans 0–50 °C.
