The HP/Agilent 8169A Polarization Controller is designed for precise control of light polarization. With a polarization ratio exceeding 45 dB between 1530nm and 1560nm, it is ideal for use in telecommunications and optical research. This controller allows for accurate adjustment and stabilization of the state of polarization (SOP) in optical fibers, which is essential for minimizing signal degradation and optimizing performance in high-speed communication systems.

Equipment info

The HP/Agilent 8169A Polarization Controller enables precise synthesis and manipulation of optical polarization states across the C-band and extended L-band. Using zero-order waveplates and a high-performance linear polarizer, it generates all possible polarization states on the Poincaré sphere with ±0.09° accuracy. The instrument supports polarization-dependent loss (PDL) and polarization mode dispersion (PMD) measurement, polarization synthesis in optical research, and telecommunications applications requiring deterministic SOP control.
