Equipment info

The HP/Agilent 83751A Synthesized Sweeper generates precise RF signals across 2 to 20 GHz with 1 Hz frequency resolution and synthesized accuracy. It combines the stability of a synthesizer with analog sweep speed, enabling rapid component characterization and scalar network analysis. The instrument supports multiple sweep modes—CW, stepped, ramp (analog/digital), marker, alternate, and power sweep—plus AM, FM, and pulse modulation. Internal or external ALC maintains output power accuracy across temperature and frequency variations. GPIB control with SCPI and HP 8350 command compatibility enables direct integration into automated test systems.

Technical Specifications

• Frequency Range: 2 GHz to 20 GHz with 1 Hz resolution
• Output Power: +10 dBm maximum leveled (83751A); -15 dBm minimum (-85 dBm with Option 1E1)
• Output Impedance: 50 ohms; Precision 3.5 mm connector standard
• Harmonic Distortion: Typically < -30 dBc to 10 GHz; < -25 dBc above 10 GHz
