The JDSU FBP-SM03 is a handheld dual magnification fiber inspection probe for visual examination of fiber optic connector end-faces. It delivers 200X and 400X magnification with submicron resolution, enabling technicians to identify contamination, defects, and damage critical to network performance. The probe operates with manual focus adjustment and blue LED coaxial illumination, connecting directly to JDSU HD-series displays or via USB analog-to-digital converter to PCs and test platforms for image capture and analysis. Its compact, ergonomic design enables one-handed inspection in confined spaces—behind patch panels, within hardware enclosures, and at awkward angles.
